Tomorrow

January 11th, 2010

Tomorrow…I will have a new Carly Boone segment AND update on my journey’s progress. Be here for the excitement!

Back on Track…soon.

December 28th, 2009

I’m working at getting caught up on the little niggly things that are hanging around my head. Hopefully I will be posting for real in the next few days, and I will be starting up my other daily stuff and Carly Boone again too. Until then, patience will be appreciated. Well, since I have an average of 2 visitors per day, I guess there’s not many who will care anyway! Thanks, you two, for hanging in there with me.

Ho hum.

Happy Thanksgiving!

November 25th, 2009

Due to an internet malfunction, I will not be able to post for a few days…so sorry! But enjoy your holiday and hopefully I will be back on Monday!

Until further notice or December 1, whichever comes first…

November 12th, 2009

I apologise, dear readers (all 3 of you), but I must put Carly Boone on hold for a few weeks. Since she is happily sitting on a bus, holding hands with Gray Weber, she won’t mind. I know that the mystery of Heather Jackson’s disappearance is just hanging there, but it can’t be helped. I am participating in the National Novel Writing Month with my daughter for the rest of November, and I absolutely can’t obsess about two stories simultaneously. My head fills with details and ideas and dialogue, and there is only room for one at a time. I’m sorry if this inconveniences anyone. All you blog-surfers out there who haven’t read about Carly and her gift, now is the time to catch up! She’s waiting for you to visit…
In the meantime, I will write about other random stuff that goes on in my head…won’t that be fun?

Take a bow!

Sniffy and Stressed

November 4th, 2009

Sorry. It’s already Wednesday and I haven’t completed the next part to my story. I have been feeling under the weather this week, physically and mentally. I’m better. I’ve been stuck on the direction I want to take with Carly Boone’s saga, but since I’m doing this strictly for practice and FUN, I promise to work through it and get on with it today. If it ends up not making sense, or is stupid and boring…tough. This is for FUN, not profit, and you get it pretty much as the story comes out of my head…but I do hope you enjoy it.

Hija and I are mulling over trying the challenge of National Novel WritingMonth (NaNoWriMo…I think…yep, that’s it). During the month of November, people are to write at least 50,000 words ofa novel. It can either be a complete work or just the first 50,000 words. You have to submit it before midnight on November 30 to be declared a “winner”. There are no prizes that I know of, just the satisfaction of completing the challenge. It must be an original work started November 1, not one previously started. There’s the rub for me. I have a novel started that I can’t use, and I’m stumped for ideas right now…maybe Hija will be in a more imaginative mode than I am! Maybe the challenge will awaken some ideas in me. Maybe I will suddenly become a good writer. Uh-huh. Sorry again, slipped into my defeatist attitude for a second…it’s passed now. Right now, writing has to be F-U-N or it’s just not going to happen. So this better be FUN or else. FUN, I tell you!!!

My brain hurts…

October 23rd, 2009

Today was one of those days. One of the days where I receive a visit from my blog-mother, sarahk, where she tries to help a computer-tech-challenged middle-aged woman set up “stuff” on her blog (me, if you must know). She stayed for about 3 hours, and between our chatting (and guffawing) about all sorts of stuff, some too indelicate to mention here, we did get some things accomplished that we’ve tried to do for weeks (you know, like getting me a site meter and setting me up for text ads…stuff like that there).

Now, here’s the deal. I’m good for about 2 hours as far as comprehension goes. But that third hour, when we’re zipping back and forth between sites, and we have at least 5 windows open, and she’s trying to figure out how to paste some code into my HTML, she has just totally lost me, and I really think she changed to Portuguese or something, because it got to where I did not understand a single thing she was talking about…truly.

And I swear, after every session (we’ve had about 4, I think), my brain is pretty much oatmeal and my eyes are crossed. But it’s all good…
