Well, it promises to be a fun day today, despite my concerns over my own gluttony problems! We will have a great time celebrating Steph’s birthday, and it will be more special because her friends are visiting and can come party with us! Everyone yell at me if you see me eating too much (or much of the bad stuff)! I’m asking, so you won’t be nagging! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Today is Friday and for about the fourth weekend in a row we are celebrating something. Don’t get me wrong, Steph, I am sooooo happy that you were born and that we get to share that special day with you, but man, all these summer celebrations are killing my healthy lifestyle! Starting in April, actually, with Frank’s birthday….then Mother’s Day, my birthday, Memorial Day, Father’s Day and Mur’s birthday, Hunter’s birthday, Fourth of July, then Steph’s birthday (and next year we get to add Leo’s birthday to all that celebrating). WOW, we are one celebrating family! All I can say is, I’m really glad I’ve been walking every day and being relatively good during the week, or these parties would blow me up like a whale!!!! But at least Steph has requested fresh vegies to munch on….yea Steph!

Isn’t it just a lovely day? This is a day when we should go to the park or do something outside. Get out and enjoy the sunshine and the nice breeze! Hey, I ate all my vegetables and fruits yesterday and drank all my water! That is a huge accomplishment for me. And duh, eating the things I should be eating really does help keep me from eating bad stuff (I knew that). Now if I can just form a HABIT! How about you? Are you all still trying? Don’t give up! If we like the challenge, we’ll definitely try another one in the fall, from September 1 – January 1 (4 months this time)

Sigh…another 3 days of not wanting to have self-control, but at the same time, wanting to be healthy and lose weight. Weekends are such a struggle for me. Weekdays, are not so bad, some minor self-discipline issues, but Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are just killer for me, ESPECIALLY a holiday. I do so want to get “fitter” though, so I will try to withstand the “fiery darts” of food temptation…HELP!

Bailey suggested yesterday that I do more planning when I’m going to be in an “unhealthy” eating situation and take something with me that’s okay for me. That’s funny, because that’s the same advice I got from Frank. He basically eats what I put in front of him…if it’s healthy or not, that’s what he eats. He suggested that I make my lunch when I make his, then I don’t have to think about what I want for lunch and snacks, I just eat what I already made. Both pieces of advice are really good, I will try them! Thanks guys…see this blog is really helping at least ME!

Now that Nancy and Tom are leaving today (sad though it is to see them go), maybe I can get back on track. She said she had been doing well until this trip. It’s just so hard to stay good when the normal schedule is thrown off. When there’s a holiday or a visit from family or vacation… almost anything it seems…my good intentions and self-promises go right out the door and all I want to do is “social” eat. That habit has got to change or I’ll never get healthier. How do I alter my whole way of thinking? Any ideas?
